configure: error: reputation requires curl

Hi,

trying to compile 2.8.2 on Ubuntu server 12.04 LTS. I keep getting the
following error while running ./configure

checking for CURL... no
configure: error: reputation requires curl

I already have installed:

# apt-get install curl

# apt-get install liblua5.1-curl-dev liblua5.1-curl0

Which other curl package am I missing?
