I think having the ability to use regular expressions is nearly always
useful. ;) They are available in the OpenLDAP ACL's format, for example,
but there are plenty of other methods for specifying access there that
don't use regex's too. I.e., it's optional for if you need them for more
complex expressions, you can do it, but you're not required to.
