SSL error:0D0680A8:asn1 encoding routines

Dear all,

I am having trouble with opendkim. I had to give up on it for some time
but now I am really determined to get it to work. Here's what happens.
I have a FreeBSD 9.1-RELEASE machine with postfix postfix-2.9.4_2 and
opendkim-2.8.0. The opendkim.conf file was re-created today from scratch
by using the sample file from the latest DKIM version.
The opendkim starts fine with no errors being logged:

However, as soon as I enable
smtpd_milters = inet:127.0.0.1:4445
non_smtpd_milters = inet:127.0.0.1:4445
in main.cf I get:

resource unavailable: d2i_PrivateKey_bio() failed

I understand that there is some SSL problem here but I am not sure how
to debug it. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you very
much in advance
