Lua: database lookup value?

Hello,

I can see that db_check can be used to look up keys in opendkim
datasets, however it is documented to only return 0, 1 or nil.
Is there a way to retrieve the value associated with the key?

I'd like to use this to repurpose SigningTable to look up
envelope-sender rather than the From: header value.
