I suggest turning Diagnostics and KeepTemporaryFiles on, then sending once
from each client, and comparing them. You'll at least see how the two
clients behave differently, which might give some hints.

Do those same two clients encounter the same issues with
sa-test_at_sendmail.net or autorespond+dkim_at_dk.elandsys.com, or any of the
other public verifying auto-responders?
