ok - what version of opendkim are you running?

what OS/ distribution?

What version of SSL do you have?

Where is libssl.a?

Does the contents of config.log give you any clues?

My initial guess is libssl.a isn't in a path that opendkim currently checks.

By the way do you have a libssl.pc file installed? The developers are
considering using pkg-config to find SSL and other libraries.
