I'm finally getting around to reviewing this bug report. I dig a flag-less
./configure and ./make on a CentOS 6.3 x86_64 and a CentOS 5 32-bit box and
couldn't replicate on either. The comments on the report point to the issue
possibly arising when on a 64-bit system with 32-bit libraries installed.

Not sure I'm much help on this, as I can't see how to generate the error.

But the REAL question is, why doesn't he just use yum to install the CentOS
packages? ;)
