Do we need 2.8.1?

Do we need a 2.8.1 release just to fix the libdb compatibility issues? I
don't have anything else pending that would warrant a release.

Are the ports/RPM maintainers okay with cherry-picking the diffs for now?
Or do you just want to wait for 2.8.1 (which has no schedule yet)?
