br-2-1 created; HEAD is open for feature changes

Please commit bug fixes for the 2.1.x releases on the branch and on the
HEAD, but only commit feature-related changes (adding or removing
features) to the HEAD.

Thus begins the 2.2.x development cycle. :-)

I'll do the call for commitments to RFEs in a few weeks.
