The tre 0.7.5 checks with pkg-config produce this, unfortunately:

checking for LIBTRE... no
checking for LIBTRE... yes

Is there any way to annotate the checks to indicate how the two are
different?

Not a beta-blocker, but it would be nice to tidy this up.
