The OpenDKIM project announces the start of OpenDKIM v2.1.0's Beta cycle.
Beta0 is now available for download from SourceForge.
The targeted release date is June 6th, so we have about two weeks planned for
testing and patches.
This will be a major new feature release. The main changes will include:
o Optional caching and piggybacking of LDAP queries to reduce
redundant load on LDAP servers.
o A complete re-working of statistics collection, with the option
to submit anonymized data back to the OpenDKIM project for
collation. This is being done in support of the work of the
IETF DKIM working group. See
http://www.opendkim.org/stats.html
for more information.
o Extensions to the mail resigning feature in support of mailing
list managers.
o It is now possible to set up a reference to a data set that is
actually a Lua script so that arbitrary query programming can be
done for handling database requests.
o The command line has undergone substantial cleanup, in that ten
command line flags that are also available in the configuration
file have now been removed from the command line.
o Experimental support for a DKIM-specific extension to RFC5451 (the
Authentication-Results header field) has been added.
o opendkim-genzone now uses the KeyTable setting in the configuration
file to generate a zone file based on current configuration.
We would also like to take this opportunity to mention that the IETF's DKIM
working group is preparing to re-charter itself, extending to cover more
related work including DKIM's use with respect to mailing lists. If this
is an area of interest to you, you might want to become involved. Visit
http://datatracker.ietf.org/wg/dkim/charter/ to view the charter, and there
are links there to subscribe to the list and/or read its archives. The
OpenDKIM Project includes people in that working group, and proposals from
that group ratified by the IETF are very likely to become part of this
package in the future.
Bug reports and other feedback should ONLY be sent to the opendkim-dev
mailing list (see
http://lists.opendkim.org). Please do not use the
opendkim-users list or the SourceForge trackers for handling Beta issues.
Thanks for your participation!
